Correct Belt Orientation: This is a directional, handed belt featuring two distinct edges: one flat straight edge and one chamfered (tapered) angled edge. The chamfered edge MUST face OUTWARDS (away from the engine) during installation. Fitting the belt backwards will cause immediate failure.
